Built for audiophiles, Primo features a premium ESS 9038Q2M SABRE DAC. The Volumio Streamer is hand-assembled in Florence, Italy. The streamer gives you access to Volumio’s premium features on your device without the monthly fee.
Designed by recent Red Dot Award winner Design Narratives Ltd., Primo is built around an anti-magnetic aluminum chassis. The SABRE DAC – ESS 9038Q2M – is in a differential configuration, connected via I2S to the digital input section.
Designed with a high-performance quad-core processor, Primo achieves top-notch audio efficiency and speed. The latest Amlogic quad-core processor with a clock speed of 1.9 GHz and 2 GB of RAM form the brains of Primo, which effortlessly runs the Volumio OS.
Analog audio outputs are available in both balanced and unbalanced formats. There is a digital coaxial SPDIF output, one HDMI port for an external monitor, and two USB ports.
Primo V2 is the latest version of Volumio (Volumio AI), which includes Supersearch, an artificial intelligence-based search feature designed to optimize music searches. Volumio OS features Multi-room functionality that creates an integrated environment with other Volumio stations in your home.
Getting started takes just a few minutes with the official Volumio apps for iOS and Android. All Volumio products are Roon Ready certified by Roon Labs, ensuring seamless integration with Roon. Volumio Primo V2 provides access to most online music services, including Spotify, Pandora, Qobuz, HighResAudio, and Tidal. Obviously, 24-bit/192kHz streaming support is possible for compatible services. The Volumio Primo V2 network player can also access thousands of internet radio stations worldwide thanks to its compatibility with TuneIN. Thanks to three USB ports (two USB-A and one USB-C), you can connect an external hard drive, as well as a USB CD player. These ports can also act as audio outputs for connecting an external USB DAC. The latter can also be connected coaxially. Unbalanced RCA outputs and balanced XLR allow you to connect the Volumio Primo V2 network player directly to a Hi-Fi amplifier. Finally, the HDMI output allows you to connect the Volumio Primo V2 player to a TV or video projector for easier control, viewing currently playing titles, and playing 4K UHD videos.
