In the Mahler speaker systems of the Austrian company Vienna Acoustics, silk domes and paper diaphragms work in almost the entire frequency range. The high frequency band is served by a woven dome from Scan-Speak - the elite model D29, modified to order by Vienna Acoustics, the tweeter is vibration-isolated with silicone gel, which resembles rubber. The manufacturer indicates that this makes it possible to focus not only the high frequency, but also the low frequency, because the “woofer” is then placed without gaskets - more rigidly. The high crossover frequency - 4 kHz, made it possible to equip the “tweeter” with a “musical” 1st-order filter with extremely high-quality capacitors - metal-film MKP from Mundorf ($ 70 retail). The midrange is a pair of 7-inch Scan-Speak midrange heads of the highest class, called mid-woofer by the manufacturer, enters from 70 Hz. The upper speaker operates up to a crossover frequency of 4 kHz, and the lower one operates in the 70-200 Hz band (6 dB/oct.), Then filtering is performed at 400 Hz (12 dB/oct.) and 800 Hz (18 dB/oct.). Thanks to this, the parameters of the midrange radiator change over a wide frequency range. Improving the mid-bass required placing 7-inch speakers in acoustically isolated and different-sized volumes. The speaker has an exemplary frequency response in the midrange, but the impedance curve requires the amplifier to have a current reserve. The LF section is equipped with two 10-inch Eton “Low-frequency” speakers. The mechanically robust design of the Eton diffusers allows you not to worry about the coloration introduced by the increase in distortion as the power increases and the signal frequency decreases. Vienna Acoustics Mahler has two bass reflexes, one 2 cm shorter than the other, to avoid pronounced resonance phenomena at one frequency. They are located on the rear wall of the speaker. The rationality of this solution is that speakers with a lower frequency response limit of 22 Hz will not be pressed against the wall, and the hiss of air with this placement of the bass reflex is less noticeable. The lateral arrangement of the woofers allows you to make a front panel with a small area (which minimizes near reflections). A narrow front panel with a significant thickness of 40 mm ensures a focused sound stage. The element base used in crossovers is of the highest quality. VIENNA ACOUSTICS manually produces capacitors (“Musical Capacitor”). Metal film resistors with a tolerance of less than 2% are used, which do not have an inductive component, and air core inductors are wound with a tolerance of 0.7% and make a significant contribution to improving the spatial characteristics of the speaker systems. Each speaker system is individually tested for reproduction with a tolerance of +/- 0.3 dB.

I purchased a very hefty subwoofer from Yaroslav. He looked at several options to get it to me in UK and we got it here without any fuss and safely. Brilliant service all round. Absolutely delighted.
