The passive preamplifier from the American company Schiit Audio is equipped with a two-position switch and a potentiometer. When there are two devices tied to one audio device, you can easily switch between them by pressing or, conversely, pressing the button on the front panel of the SYS, and also adjust the signal level.
On the rear panel of the device there are two pairs of input jacks of the "tulip" type (In1 and In2) and a pair of outputs (Out). On the front panel there is a volume control and a switch for input devices. Inside the SYS there are no electronics, there are no components that require power supply.
Accordingly, the SYS does not have elements that can distort and somehow spoil the sound. You can connect any device with a line output to the device. It is allowed to use the Sys backwards: turn the volume to maximum, use the Out jack as an input. As a result, you get a branch into two audio outputs - In1 and In2 jacks.
The presence of SYS does not change anything - neither the sound nor the tonal balance. It is simply a compact and convenient switch, with which you can transfer a signal from one of two sources to an audio device.
