All Tellurium Q products are designed and manufactured in the UK. Tellurium Q was founded by Geoff Merrigan after his visit to a recording studio in Somerset (UK). The company's chief technical officer is Colin Wanfor, developer of Claymore, Proac Magnum, Magnum, Dreadnought, Lescon, Oxford Acoustics amplifiers. Wanfor is also known as the developer of the most powerful class A power units: the TOCA SECA series, power supplies for NASA.
The young company, which recently entered the hi-end scene, received the highest score for the entire model range and awards for individual models from HiFi Plus and "Product of the year" from HiFi World.
HiFi World magazine states that the Iridium MM/MC Phono Pre Amp is “A stunningly good phono stage that combines the best of solid-state and tube technology. The market leader in its price category, the Iridium will provide tough competition to phono stages in much higher price categories.”
The Tellurium Q Iridium MM/MC Phono Pre Amp is equipped with a variable output stage. On the rear wall of the device there are two pairs of line outputs. The first of them is marked “Vol”. It can be connected directly to a power amplifier and the volume is adjusted with a potentiometer knob on the front panel. The second pair of RCAs is “Buffer” with a constant output level. There are also two pairs of inputs – designed for MM and MC cartridges, respectively. The choice between them is made using the corresponding toggle switch. This allows you to connect two turntables or one turntable with two tonearms (with MM and MC heads).
