S.M.S.L M8 is built on the basis of the Sabre Reference 32-bit ES9018K2M DAC chip. The M8 case is made of solid aluminum with proper finishing. The front panel has a minimal set of control keys and an informative LED-lisplay that displays the most important information. The set of connection interfaces is represented by USB, coaxial, and optical (Toslink) inputs, while multimedia speakers or an integrated amplifier are connected via a standard RCA pair. Support for modern DSD 64 and 128 codecs is provided.
S.M.S.L. M8 demonstrates clean analytical sound with enviable detail, even tonal balance, and a spacious sound stage. It is characterized by a dense, controlled bass, an expressive, timbre-rich midrange with good resolution, and a sonorous, devoid of sharpness of the upper register frequency.
