Head for the cartridge with Shibata stylus. Used in the heads JVC 4DT-10X, 5X, F11 as well as JVC MD-1016Z, 4MP-10X, Brother 51X, Hitachi M7-11F. Perfect for retipping (replacing the cantilever with a diamond).
After installing this needle on the head, you will hear so many details when playing records that you never even knew about.
The Shibata profile is a more accurate reproduction of high frequencies with less distortion and reduced wear of the grooves of the record. This is a profile that almost closely duplicates the shape of the needle used to cut the original varnish master disc, from which matrices are then made for pressing records. The Shibata profile allows you to accurately track areas of the grooves that other needle profiles simply cannot reach. The result is accurate tracking of high-frequency transitions and a linear frequency response throughout the entire frequency range.
The Shibata-ground stylus is very popular among audiophiles. It was developed for playing quadraphonic records with an upper limit frequency of 50,000 Hz and is successfully used for reproducing stereo recordings.
It has an accurate, open, rhythmic, and dynamic sound with high resolution, attention to the subtleties of the presentation of musical material, excellent bass, minimal distortion, and no phase errors. The Shibata profile also ensures less wear on the vinyl record and the diamond stylus.
