CAIRN 4808 North Face
Cairn" is a French company founded by Gilles Belo in 1994.
All models of the company are positioned by the manufacturer in the hi-fi/high end class.
An important event in the history of "Cairn" was the beginning of cooperation with
the young French design firm "Ezo", managed by Benoit Rabozzi.
The unique design of "Cairn" models is the realization of the creative energy of the "Ezo" team.
The "4808 North Face" model is designed specifically for working with low-sensitivity acoustics.
The exterior design of the model is made in a kind of "porthole style".
Backlit by blue light, the display of the device is associated with the windows of an airplane, ship or bathyscaphe.
Other parts (buttons, ventilation holes, etc.) have the shape of a regular circle and are arranged in rows.
The device has a strong and rigid steel chassis.
The front panel is a 10 mm aluminum plate, the top is an anodized sheet of the same material.
There are anti-vibration legs.
Adjusting the volume level is carried out by sequentially switching on groups of resistors.
The power circuit uses a powerful toroidal transformer.
The temperature sensor blocks dangerous overheating of the output cascades.
The inputs are switched using a relay. The amplifier has five linear and one balanced inputs.
The output stage is assembled on MOSFET field-effect transistors.
The cosmetic and technical condition is excellent. Very detailed, airy and soft sound, reminiscent of a lamp.
