In AW-180 monoblocks, the previous and output stages are independent parts connected only by a signal chain. The input cascades operating in class A increase the voltage, and the output stages increase the current in the not very deep class AB. This is evidenced by the fact that the AW-180 consumes 160 W from the mains when idling. In the absence of general feedback, the signal from the output of the amplifier does not return to its input, accordingly, the electromotive force that occurs in the voice coil of the loudspeaker during the reverse movement of the diffuser does not get there either. This, in fact, is the main advantage of the absence of feedback.
The monobloc produces 180 W at 8 ohms, 350 W at 4 ohms, and 650 W at 2 ohms. A standard bridge connection is provided, in which the power increases fourfold. Such significant indicators are provided by a power supply unit with a 650-watt toroidal transformer and a reserve capacity of 60,000 μF.
