The amplifier of the Danish firm Densen B-130 + is the younger brother of the B-150. It uses many similar modern solutions, thanks to which the I-150 integrated amplifier became the amplifier of the year and the "editor's choice" of magazines from different countries.
V 130+ is characterized by a convincing, neutral, dynamic and detailed sound. Such perfect solutions are rarely found in amplifiers of this price category. Like other Densen B-130 + amplifiers, it is built according to a circuit without feedback on ultra-fast and reliable transistors. Thanks to this, the amplifier - regardless of the load - always shows the best characteristics.
The B-130+ has a number of unique features, such as a processor break, which allows you to easily connect external surround sound processors. In addition, Densen SB-1 or SB-2 analog surround boards can be installed in the amplifier for convenient connection of DVD players with 5 + 1 or 7 + 1 analog output. The amplifier is also equipped with internal connectors for Densen DP-03 MM phono equalizers and DP-06 MC.
The Densen B-130+ is equipped with all the necessary input and output connectors, including 2 preamplifier outputs, thanks to which the system can be expanded to bi-amp or tri-amp. The Densen SAXO electronic crossover (for an active system) can be connected to the B-130 + internal connector.
The total capacity of the power supply unit is 90,000 uF. The powerful toroidal transformer is placed in a special compartment to minimize vibrations. Thanks to the technology of surface mounting, it was possible to achieve a small size of the printed circuit board, reducing the effect of pointers on it.
All the parts used are of the highest quality: Vishay metal film resistors, in-house capacitors, Vima film capacitors, Sanken transistors, sealed relays and gold-plated input connectors. And yet, the most important thing is the sound. The Densen team did everything possible to bring the sound of the B-130+ to perfection.
B-130 + produces 80 W at a load of 8 ohms, or 160 W at a load of 4 ohms. The amplifier is equipped with connectors for connecting Densen DenLink multi-room systems.
The power of this integrated amplifier doubles when switching from a load of 8 Ohms to 4 Ohms (80 W and 160 W, respectively) while the weight of the device is only 12 kg! Connecting an optional external power supply provides an additional gain in dynamics. The amplifier has no negative feedback. Volume control is implemented using a resistive matrix with relay switching. The flexible architecture allows the use of several amplifiers in multi-channel systems, which is especially attractive given the readiness of the device to work with an active SAXO crossover. Thanks to the DenLink information bus interface, the amplifier can be integrated into a general control system.
Externally, the Densen B-130 + integrated amplifier looks modest and impeccable. Like a solid organic alloy of anodized aluminum, nothing extra, just a body without any gaps and inscriptions, and a minimal screen. The body material (aluminum) is made using a special method, due to which it successfully dissipates heat. There are several buttons on the front panel.
The Densen B-130+ uses bipolar broadband transistors that are soldered into the motherboard and pressed into the amplifier's thick base. Thus, the case itself is a heat sink. A toroidal transformer is located on the back of the case.
Volume is controlled by a highly accurate attenuator using Vishay metal resistors. It has 200 steps of 0.5 dB. The amplifier skillfully transmits any recordings, every breath and any exotic effect. He copes well with concert recordings, and even with orchestral music. Soprano and tenor, violin or cello, and in general any instruments and voices are transmitted in excellent quality.
